Research for Practice
The Center for Health and Migration conducts research with a focus on policy and practice development. It aims to contribute to the theoretical and empirical knowledge base in terms of the complex interplay of health, migration, and sustainable social development. We promote and implement research on health and migration in a participatory and community-oriented way to create a solid evidence base for policy and practice.
We work interdisciplinary and with a global perspective. An important element of our work is the cooperation within international expert networks. Center for Health and Migration staff is active in COST European Cooperation in Science and Technology Actions and in the global Migration Health and Development Research Initiative (MHADRI).
In our work, we adopt the Code of Ethics of the American Sociological Association with its five principles: professional competence, integrity, professional and scientific responsibility, respect for people’s rights, dignity, and diversity, and social responsibility.
